the quicksilvers have a bentgate biner for clipping the rope, while the quickwires have a wiregate biner for clipping the rope. we could discuss ad nauseum the pros and cons of each including marginal weight difference, stiffer gate, gate flutter, straight-gate hooks snagging on rack, etc, etc. but IMO, it's just a personal preference thing. at the level that you (and most of us here, including myself) will be climbing at. it really won't matter that much. clip with each and decided which handling you like better. fyi: i like the wiregates a bit more, but not so much that i go out of my way (or expenses) to replace any of my old biners with them.
