I am Cris Coban, the host of an upcoming television series about mountaineering. We are very excited about getting everything in place for a successful run.

The first set of 13 episodes (starting mid 2008) will feature North American climbs. We are looking for a few people for the show:

  1. A High Altitude Sports Medicine expert (medical / physiology / high altitude research, M.D., Ph.D. type). Will not climb with us, but will answer our medical/physiology questions.
  2. A recognized Climbing / Mountaineering expert. Will not climb with us, but will answer our technical mountaineering questions.
  3. Mountaineering guides. Will guide us (host + 2-3 crew) on the climb. We’ll have a new guide for each climb. (BTW, the host & crew are experienced mountaineers, with good technical skills for the climbs.)

We would also like to hear any suggestions for outstanding climbs. We are planning climbs in a "crescendo" of technical skills and difficulty, with the last 2-3 episodes of the set dedicated to a Denali expedition.

If you know anyone who would make a good expert or guide for our show (or you know a "most excellent" climb and you’d like to suggest it) please let us know. Please reply to climb@lp2cd.com or 407-292-1151. We’ll be happy to contact people you provide contact info for. If you would like to forward this info to your friends or publicize in a newsletter (or post in a newsgroup, board, blog, etc.) that would be great, too.

Your suggestions will be most welcome. We are now collecting ideas and would like to hear from as many people involved in mountaineering and climbing as possible. The show will only be as good as the material we present and that’s why we need to hear from you, climbers and mountaineers.

Thanks for your time and suggestions.

All the best wishes,
Cris Coban
Mountaineer and Host

Hi missclimber,
Thanks for writing.
We are looking at starting production in Spring/Summer 2008.
If you have suggestions for interesting climbs (that would make an exciting show) or you have suggestions for the "experts" we are looking for, please feel free to write back. You may want to email a copy directly to climb@lp2cd.com, as I am not checking the boards very frequently.
Best wishes,
Cris Coban

If you have something after 2011 I would be more than happy to help, military comes first but ends then. My job takes me all over the world and also allows me time to climb and explore wherever i can find the time. Too bad my enlistment isn't up this year or i would sign up now!
