I have thought of it a couple times but money and space restraints have kind of stopped that idea, haha

thought of it a million times!!! space is the problem. saving up for a new place and hopefully this dream of having a personal rock wall would materialize soon!!!

maybe the better question is: 'who hasn't thought about building a wall?'
i have dreams about some extravagant setup of modulars running all around the house (for the 1/4second that the dry-wall would stand up). and then i think, 'hey when i BUILD a house i'll just have studs and support walls for holds EVERYWHERE!'...until i see the expression on my girlfriend's face (yeah, we know who wears the pants).
i keep telling myself that i'm going to do something odd like that one of these days when i'm rich and famous (like that'd ever happen).
if you're actually seriously considering it and (like most of us) don't really have the funds, check with your gym to see if they're selling any of the old holds (our gym occasionally unloads some of theirs).

I could see where the illegal part part might come up if the wall was outside but if you have one inside I wouldn't see a problem and even outside having a fence around one would probably be sufficient, like with a pool.

the half pipe i can see would be illegal because they are loud. i know i was an aggressive inliner. (not now that i live in the country.) and he probably had a bunch of kids over all the time. i live near the woods i have 2 acer to do what i want. and no they are not illegal. now if i was building some thing in another building i might have to get a building permit. but that would be the extent of it.

that's right. as long as you're not bothering anyone, i don't think it should be illegal.

I wanted to build a mini half pipe in my back yard. I had to clear it with the neighborhood council, they denied it but if you live in that type of community they usually have the final say. It was the same thing if we wanted to put in a pool or shed even fences.

i don't mean to be arrogant but why does it have to be like that, i mean it's your house, your property, as long as, like in benners' example, the halfpipe doesn't have one side on the neighbor's fence, it should be fine. that's just me though

maybe the community thought it might be to loud. or some one would end up some one hurting them selves.
