There's a special place tucked away in a 1920's oil field, the largest oil field in the United States at that time. The first bottled gas ever, was filled there also. Even though the oil field is no longer in use, and hasn't been for a long time, there are still remnants of the oil field being there. Old storage tanks, oil rigs ....etc. Very interesting to see the visible history still there. This area is very pretty, scenic, and private! Heath Rowland, a.k.a. Herothezero has a nice spot there and just so happens to have a very nice bluff line on it. The best part is he's inviting climbers to establish and bolt new routes. He's put up a couple of very nice lines and my son and I have put up a couple of lines. Theres alot of potential for some very hard lines, 12's, 13's, and yes 14's.
This is a beautifull place and worth the effort. Contact Herothezero for more info. This is a secure area and you will need permission to go there.
Thanks for the plug Brad, and yes anyone is welcome to come out and put up routes with permission. All that I ask is that you respect the land and anyones flagged projects. Other than that rock on.

O.K. There are currently about 12 more lots available some wtih rock some without. Even if you have a spot that doesn't have any rock your not far from it. Plus your only a hop, skip, and a jump from the red river gorge.
