Anyone here ever take a look at crossfit.com''''s site? While I don''''t follow along with the daily exercises I have done some of them on occasion. The workouts are geared to total body fitness which is helpful to climbers. Others sports and careers that require fitness have picked up on it as well. firefighters, police, MMA fighters, triathletes A friend of mine who is a world class pentathlete is a certified crossfit trainer and uses it for his training.
Guessing no one has a comment about Crossfit. I watched a video on Crossfit.com yesterday (May 4, 2008) that showed a firefighter doing a workout in full gear including airpack. The workout was a simple one. Thrusters and pull-ups. Thrusters are with 95lbs weight lifting bar. You go from bar below chin in a squat and thrust the bar into the air above your head. Pull-ups you all know. He did 3 sets with reps of 21, 15 and 9 for time. Total workout lasted about 9 mins. The video is pretty large at 65MB and there is some offensive language at the very end.
dude, my brother, a triathlete, has been doing crossfit training for 4 years already.. when he was starting, he was really complaining about how hard it is.. but it paid off.. great workout.. just seeing how rigorous the training is!! i can do some, but not as well as those who have adopted the training.. kudos to them! it will really take a lot of effort and discipline.. which obviously, im not ready yet!

Been doing two crossfit workouts a week for just over a month. Feel stronger on climbs and I've moved up a grade in climbs. Now I don't think the crossfit is the entire reason but it has helped with my improvement.

That's great; I haven't decided exactly how I want to try and work it into my routines but I'd like to get it there. I like varying exercises as it keeps the muscles confused and helps you see faster improvements.

I do crossfit once a week with a couple of Marine recruiters. The Marines are beginning to incorporate this program into their basic training. Great workout! A plateau can never really be reached with crossfit.

My friend and i have started doing crossfit, though we are more on the out of shape end of things and just starting to get seriously physically active.
We found a forum where they post scaled workout so that no matter your level you can benefit from the crossfit program because crossfit can work for anyone.
