This is along the same theme as the one arm workout. You might be able to do a climb a little more difficult than the one arm workout. Try your best to do the entire clime with just one leg.

ok, this one, i just plain don't like. it virtually screams "hop around, get dynamic, and practice bad form." but as i said with the one arm thing, i haven't tried it so i won't chastise you for the idea [yet]. i think in both of these single appendage ideas, time could be better spent training proper form or endurance. i could definitely see me goofing around like this if i got bored though (and i'm not feeling like being productive)

Agreed; Other than the strength/endurance gains in the leg you are using I see no practical benefit of this exercise.

It totally blows the concept of fluidly climbing, pushing up with the legs in a controlled fashion that we preach day in and day out because you have to hop up to every foothold as you go up.

Definitely not going into my training routine.

Maybe I didn't describe it correctly and besides it's just an exercise. Think of it as a game if you like. Yes, you would hop one leg from foot hold to the next. This would provide for some extra stress on your arms/hands. Benifits like confidence in your grip on those hold(s). Not over gripping so you have more hand endurance. You also fluidly press up on the single leg in order to advance up to the next hand hold(s). Strength, endurance and variety are part of the points to each of these optional exercises. These aren't exercises for at your climbing level. They are for those that are 2 or more below your level.

Sit-up's aren't a direct climbing exercise, but it does benefit your climbing to have a strong core. Like I said try them if you like them fine. If not that is fine as well.
