I am really new to rock climbing and don''t have the upper body strength to really get up walls. I used to play a lot of football where I was encouraged to be bigger so I am way overweight. Does anyone have a workout program or suggestions to help me improve my upper body strength especially my back and hands as well as dropping the weight off. Just FYI I can''t do pullups but my gym has a bouldering wall a top rope wall and assisted pullups machine as well as anything else you can think of.

Just starting out the best way to get stronger at climbing is to just climb, climb, climb, and then when you're done with that climb some more.
Obviously I would recommend modifying your diet as well and with climbing 1-2 hours (even on easy 5.6 type routes) 2-3 days a week you'll start dropping weight fast.
This will give you the bonus boost of:
less weight = better climbing
better climbing = climbing harder and longer
climbing harder and longer = losing fat and adding muscle
losing fat and adding muscle = better climbing
Until you can climb 5.10b/c - 5.11a/b solid you really don't need to focus on any other type of climbing "training".
