Mark your calendars for the Capital Climbing Festival that will be held on March 10 and 11. The event is hosted by London's three major walls, The Castle Climbing Centre, The Westway and Mile End Climbing W
all.
The highlight of the event is the prAna Triple Challenge where premier climbers will compete for big cash prizes.The challenge is composed of three rounds with each round focusing on a different climbing skill. There are categories available for both amateurs and professionals. Aside from the competition, there will be activities available for everyone regardless of climbing level or age.
On March 11, the venue for the event is The Westway and Mile End. The activities included on this day is a prAna sponsored yoga and massage, taster sessions, Have-a-go slackline, Haki sac competition, Poi and juggling workshops, gear demos and slideshows.
While On March 12, venue for the event is The Castle. The day will be spent with yoga and massage therapies, abseiling, Taster essions, demos, dry tooling and a barbecue.

Join Alala Women's Mountain Adventures Ice Intensive Course on February 20-25 in Lake Louise, Banff National Park. The course is apt for intermediate and advanced climbers.
The five-day course will compose of expert instruction, accommodations, meals, technical equipment (except for boots). Also, Black Diamond will provide demo gear and The North Face will be there to give away freebies to all the participants.

Better safe than sorry.
Climbers, skiers, riders and snowshoers are advised to take this course. The International Mountain Climbing School will be conducting avalanche awareness clinics on February 1 0 to 12. The Level 1 course will teach participants avalanche awareness, which is ideal for those about to set out for avalanche terrain.
In this clinic, participants will learn how to identify potential dangers and hazards as they venture into avalanche terrain. In addition, snowpack history, snow mechanics, route finding and rescue strategies will be taught. Activities include snow pits, weak layer foundation and backcountry rescue with transceivers. Most importantly, the clinic will help participants form a framework on decision-making, risk management and provide a basic understanding of avalanches.
