Doing What He Loves to Do

SATURDAY, 17 FEBRUARY 2007

A twenty year old New Mexico Tech student died in San Lorenzo Canyon after he fell 70 feet from a steep precipice while climbing. San Lorenzo is a popular hiking and outdoor recreation area about 12 miles north of Socorro, New Mexico.

Michael Hogan who worked at the Tech Computer Center was with his fellow students when the incident happened at about one o'clock in the morning. Hogan was on track to graduate in May 2008 with a bachelor's of science degree in computer science.

Prayers were extended to his family by friends and colleagues. According to the people close to him, he died doing what he loves to do - rock climbing.
