Learn How to Rock Climb Workshop

Have you ever wanted to learn how to rock climb? Or perhaps you’ve gone a few times but want more practice? On September 22 at Allamuchy Mountain State Park, participants will be instructed in top-rope climbing, belaying, and body mechanics on real rock. Transportation is provided from a meeting point as well as all equipment (climbing shoes, harnesses, helmets, etc.), first aid supplies, and at least 2 instructors.
This event will be for a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 10. With 2-4 climbers, the event will last 3-4 hours. With 5-10 climbers, the event will last 5-6 hours.
Cost is $70 per person. Refunds are accepted up until September 11. Send email to info@njyp.org to request a refund.
Wear any kind of comfortable athletic clothes you may wear to the gym or to play basketball. Shorts or athletic pants are fine. A pair of good fitting sneakers or light hiking boots are fine (sandals and flip-flops are a bad idea). Climbing shoes, harnesses, helmets, etc. are provided. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and a lunch. You may also bring chair so you can watch comfortably when it is not your turn.
Please be reminded that rain will cancel this event. Transportation will be provided to the park. The pick-up point will be based on where most members live so when you buy a ticket, please list your town and zip.
