Rock Climbing Discount Fee for Schoolchildren

A new wall for rock climbing had its debut last Saturday at the Norpoint Centre in Northeast Tacoma. The wall is dedicated to Mike Stone by his family.

Last year, Stone's family met with Metro Parks staff to discuss about a memorial gift to Stone who is an avid rock climber. Stone's family and the Metro Parks staff planned something that would be meaningful, as well as beneficial.

The rock climbing wall, which is located at 4818 Nassau Avenue N.E., is an attempt to battle obesity among children. They are entitled to a discounted fee during certain hours.
