Climbers, Hikers Needed to Save Lives
FRIDAY, 21 DECEMBER 2007
Climbing teams are invited to be a part of 2008 Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up which takes place worldwide on September 20 and/or 21, 2008. The event is hosted by the American Alpine Institute and the American Foundation for Children with AIDS (a non-profit organization which sends free medicine to children with AIDS in Africa) to give children hope and life.
With that in mind, we want to find and challenge 10 climbing teams (of any size) to participate in our 2008 event. Teams raise $5000 for our programs, which is then translated into life-saving medicine for HIV+ children in East Africa. We have many fundraising tips at our site.
A team can be as small or big as you’d like. We just need to get specific information from each team so we can create a page for you on our website. There are great gifts to be received if the team becomes the one to raise the most funds (we partner with NorthFace, Black Diamond, Adventure Medical Kits, Chubasco Shoes, Larabar National Geographic Adventure, etc.).
If anyone is interested, please email Tanya Weaver at tweaver@helpchildrenwithaids.org.

This is such a great avenue we as climbers can use to reach out to these kids, that without our help don't have a chance! I think it's a great chance for climbers to give back!!
