McBride Goes Bouldering at Bishop, California

Kelly McBride stopped over Bishop, California and made an ascent of the Center Direct (V10) at the Peabodies.

Local Wills Young described Peabodies as extremely tough for shorter climbers.

Included in the climbs McBride made in her visit to Bishop were Bubba Gump with a V9/V10 at the Peabodies, and Low Rider (V10) and Cholos (V9) at the Happy Boulders.

McBride did the Kind Traverse (V11) in Rocky Mountain National Park last July.

A Wisconsin locale, McBride, 24, is a student at the Colorado State University, and after many semesters off in climbing trips, she is headed to a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources, Recreation and Tourism.
