Three rock climbing classes for beginners will be offered at North Bend State Park on May 31 and June 1. The classes are organized by Adventure Pursuit, a local non-profit organization in Parkersburg, WV. A teacher from New River Mountain Guides will facilitate the classes.
The rock climbing classes will last for about four hours. Participants will learn all about tying climbing knots, rappelling, rock climbing terminologies, and various climbing techniques.
According to Kim Broughton, event organizer of Adventure Pursuit, the event aims to make adventure accessible to everyone. The class (six persons) is $100 per person ($70 if you drive to the Gorge to take it).
