La Sportiva's Athletes at Red Rocks Rendezvous

Boulder, Colorado - La Sportiva’s team of climbing and mountain running athletes will head out to Las Vegas, Nevada for a weekend of climbing, running and clinics at the fifth annual Red Rocks Rendezvous, March 28-30. La Sportiva is sponsoring a wide range of clinics from their elite climbing athletes, including Micah Dash, Tommy Caldwell, Beth Rodden, Matt Segal, Paul Stein, Dale Remsburg, and Mark Synnott.

Hosted by Mountain Gear, the premier specialty-climbing online retailer, Red Rocks Rendezvous is expecting attendees from all corners of the world. The event is designed for beginners and experienced climbers alike with something for every climber.

Every climber has been in a situation where they bite off a little bit more than they could chew, and Mark Synnott will be hosting a clinic to help climbers get down to level ground safely from nearly any situation. Mark’s clinic, called The Fine Art of Bailing, will teach attendees about improvised rappel anchors and techniques to avoid leaving too much gear. Within the context of this clinic, he will teach about everything from jammed knots to rappel anchor evaluation.

Yosemite veteran, Micah Dash will be hosting a clinic on crack climbing & off-widths at Red Rock Rendezvous. After spending years on Yosemite’s legendary search and rescue team, and completing all-free ascents of the Regular Route on Half Dome (V 5.12+), and El Capitan’s Freerider (VI 5.12+), Micah has learned the finer art of crack climbing. He will offer tips and techniques that will boost the learning curve for any climber.

In addition to the clinics and the demo fleet, La Sportiva is sponsoring Micah Dash’s slideshow, Alpine Madness, on Friday night, March 28. This will highlight some of Micah’s most notable adventures on Alpine rock climbs around the world.

La Sportiva’s team of product testers will be at the Rendezvous with their demo fleet of rock shoes and mountain running footwear. This year, La Sportiva will be handing out 100 water bottles a day to anyone who test drives a new pair of La Sportiva rock or mountain running shoes. In addition to the proven Katana, Miura, Barracuda, and mythos, La Sportiva will have their new, award-winning Solution rock shoe for attendees to demo. For the folks who prefer to run over the mountains instead of climbing up the steep parts, La Sportiva will have their award-winning Fireblade for men and the Sonic for women.
