Yoga and Rock Climbing Retreat

Submitted By: Sherwin Mapanoo

Tucson, Arizona -- Tucson based Adventure Consulting and Leadership Development firm announces their fall dates for the Mindfulness and Movement Retreat. This three day all-inclusive yoga, rock climbing, and meditation Retreat takes place November 13 - 15, 2009 at Cochise Stronghold, AZ in the Dragoon mountains (75 miles east of Tucson, AZ).

This weekend retreat offers participants the opportunity to connect yoga, meditation, and rock climbing in a fun and supportive environment. We will utilize mindfulness meditation, yoga, and rock climbing to experience a centering and calming physical and mental space and learn a new set of skills to stay present 'in the moment' - a crucial skill in our lives.

Located in the Dragoon Mountains, Cochise Stronghold is the perfect awe-inspiring setting to explore awareness and the connections between mind, heart and body through the subtleties of Anusara-Inspired yoga, the art of mindfulness meditation, the movement of rock climbing and the nourishment of amazing gourmet vegetarian food. We welcome all abilities to experience a weekend full of playful and contemplative activity, two nights of relaxing fireside camping, and 6 fresh organic vegetarian meals.

"I have come to a point in my life where having a sense of humor and enjoying myself has way more value than lamenting about the past or dissecting what is. It is all about the present, and the present is always an adventure - this retreat was a perfect balance of adventure, reflection, and fun," expresses Deb Balderston, a Mindfulness and Movement participant.

All guides are certified by the American Mountain Guide Association and facilitators hold Master's level or Ph.D level degree.

Cochise Stronghold is an ideal location for this course because of the solitude, temperate climate, and unique mountain landscape. This incredible environment is a short drive from Tucson, yet feels worlds away from the impact and connectivity of our busy city lives.

This program is open to all experience levels, and all camping gear, fresh organic vegetarian food, beverages, and technical equipment is provided.

Hi,
Yoga is beneficial for the health in ways that modern science is just beginning to understand. Even though it has beenapplied with therapeutic intention for thousand of years, Yoga Therapy is only just now emerging as a discipline initself.
More health care practitioners are starting to include yogic techniques in their approach to healing -; andmore yoga teachers give a therapeutic intention to their teaching. People who have never tried yoga before are startingto consider including Yoga in their treatment plan.
As science begins to document the importance of understanding the interrelation of all existing things, it looks to Yogawith an intrigued eye, for Yoga speaks Unity in every word. As yoga techniques are researched and new data is gathered,it becomes easier for science and the medical establishment to understand and accept the benefits of Yoga Therapy.Yet there is still not one consensual definition of the discipline.
In order to arrive to an adequate definition and tocome up with proper standards for Yoga Therapy, it is crucial at this early stage to properly address some delicateprofessional and ethical issues. At the same time it is important to educatethegeneralpublic about Yoga Therapy''sbenefits and careful use.
