2010 Climbing Camp Matukituki Valley

This year's Climbing Camp will be in the Matukituki Valley adjacent to Aspiring Hut, from Saturday 2nd January to Saturday 9th January 2010.

It will be hosted by the Otago Section and is a fantastic opportunity for climbers and their families to gather in the mountains for climbing, tramping and generally have fun.

The camp is two hours walk from the road end at Raspberry Flat, which in turn is a one-hour drive from Wanaka.

There is some fantastic climbing in the area; from the easy peaks of Tyndal and Ansted above Cascade saddle to the many climbs accessible form Colin Todd and French Ridge huts, including Mt Aspiring, Mt French and Mt Avalanche.

Tramps in the area includes crossings of the Cascade and Rees Saddle and trips to French Ridge and Liverpool Huts.
