Canada West Mountain School
Over the past 20 years CWMS has become the largest and most established mountain skills and guiding center in British Columbia, continuing to grow and evolve at the forefront of the outdoor adventure industry in North America, offering programs everywhere from BC to throughout the world.
Canada West Mountain School is based in Vancouver, British Columbia running guided mountaineering trips, climbing courses, ski touring and avalanche safety training in the mountain regions and local rock climbing crags of Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton as well as trips in the Canadian Rockies and throughout Western Canada. Starting in 2001 CWMS also began guiding our highly successful climbing expeditions to many of the "Seven Summits" around the globe, including Vinson Massif, Aconcagua, Elbrus and Kilimanjaro.
We are very proud of our Guiding Staff, and consider them among the best outdoor professionals available. All are certified through the ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides) and are dedicated professionals. Mountaineering courses, Guided climbs and Instruction in mountain climbing, outdoor rock climbing, trekking, avalanche safety courses, ski touring and ice climbing are all offered year round.

All guides are certified members of the Assoc of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). Canada West Mountain School is operated by a fully certified ACMG Mountain Guide and member of the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA).
CWMS is a member of the Canadian Avalache Association (CAA) and all Winter and Alpine programs are lead by members of the CAA |
