Sierra Rock Climbing School
The Sierra Rock Climbing School offers you the pinnacle of the guided rock climbing experience. Our guides are not only highly skilled professionals with many years of experience, they are also fun and interesting people to spend time with. We pride ourselves on hiring guides who will provide you with a valuable, fun, exciting, interesting and safety conscious rock climbing experience. All of our guides have spent many years climbing and guiding in the Eastern Sierra Nevada and Joshua Tree National Park, hence all of our guides know these areas intimately and care greatly for them. From guiding multi-pitch routes to introductory top rope instruction, our guides look forward to sharing their knowledge, experience and expertise with you.
The Sierra Rock Climbing School is based in Bishop, California, in the heart of the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range. A large percentage of our programs are conducted in the Bishop and Mammoth Lakes areas of the Eastern Sierra. Bishop/Mammoth is located about 2.5 hours from Reno, Nevada, 5.5 hours from Los Angeles, and 5.5 hours from the San Francisco area. We also offer a comprehensive rock climbing instruction and guiding program in Joshua Tree National Park, located only 2.5 hours from Los Angeles and San Diego.We also provide rock climbing instruction located literally just a couple minutes drive from the Yosemite National Park Highway 120 east entrance gate. The beauty, diversity and rock climbing of the Eastern Sierra stands unparalleled by any range in the world. The diversity of the terrain and climate of the Eastern Sierra provides a unique and rare opportunity for year round rock climbing; with the splendor of the high sierra climbing areas around Mammoth Lakes being perfect from May-October, and the amazing high desert areas of Bishop being perfect for climbing from October-May. Joshua Tree National Park provides a world class and unique climbing environment best enjoyed from September through April. Whether you are a beginner or advanced climber, the Sierra Rock Climbing School will help you experience, learn and feel the adventure of rock climbing!
With your safety as our number one priority, all of our guides have emergency medical training and have undergone professional rock climbing guide training. All of our guides also participate in yearly rock climbing guide training sessions.
