Rock Climbing Equipment Rentals
The WRC makes outdoor activities accessible to everyone by offering a variety of services including:
1- Outdoor Equipment Rentals for All Seasons.
2- Resource Library
3- Instructional and Recreational Programs
Rentals are affordable and convenient; choose from snowboards, cross country skis, camping and backpacking gear, white water rafts or kayaks, canoes, mountain bikes and more!
How to Rent from the Wilderness Recreation Center
Walk in rentals are accepted during normal hours of operation (we are located in Annex 9, 41st and Taylor, on the WSU Campus)
- or - you may call and reserve your equipment over the phone
Community members are welcome to rent, however there is a cost difference (WSU / Non-WSU).
Payment in full and a deposit is due at time of reservation or rental. Deposit may be either a credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) or a valid WSU ID (must be presented in person). Deposit will be charged for dirty, damaged, late or missing equipment within 10 days if other arrangements are not made
Names on the Deposit and Rental Contract must be the same.
Individual named on contract must be present at time of pick-up or items will not be released.
To receive discounted rates you must possess a valid WSU ID. Individual presenting wildcat card for discount must also sign contract.

Hiking
MountaineeringBefore leaving the WRC, you are responsible for inspecting all equipment carefully and to bring any missing or damaged equipment to a WRC staff member's attention. Make sure any discrepancies are noted on the rental agreement. Failure to note any discrepancies may result in a fee for damaged or missing equipment. If needed, please ask a WRC staff member for assistance with inspection and/or instructions on how to properly set-up the equipment.
Watercraft: It generally takes 30-45 minutes to check out watercraft. Please schedule a time for pick-up when at time of reservation. Deviation from this time may result in delays as equipment may not yet be prepared.
Check-In Procedures:
Equipment must be returned within 1-hour of the time and date listed on your contract and at least 1-hour prior to closing. Returns later than 1-hour of the listed time may incur a late fee. Deposit will be charged for dirty, damaged, late or missing equipment within 10 days if other
