Gannett Peak
Gannett Peak one of the most secluded mountain of all the state highpoints in the lower 48 states, is the highest peak in Wyoming and the Wind River Range. It has 5 rugged glaciers on its flank, one is Gannett Glacier which is likely the largest single glacier in the Rocky Mountains.
The peak is ranked second hardest of the U.S 50 Highpoints behind Denali of Alaska. It is the longest round trip of any highpoint, with at least 40 miles roundtrip to the summit from the trailhead. The climb requires experience, a great stamina and several days of flexible schedule.
How to Get There
The nearest airport is located at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Other airports is in Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Salt Lake City, and Casper.
