First Timers Never been climbing before? Fantastic! Your first experience of climbing will be very positive and will remain with you forever. Our professional and friendly team of instructors will make sure your first time is safe, fun and exciting. Here is how it works
It takes two buddies to climb together one to climb and one to belay [the operator of the safety equipment]. After registration and signing of the Urban Climb Waiver, you and your climbing buddy will be issued with a safety harness and climbing shoes. One of our team will help you both into your harnesses and shoes, ensuring that they are fitted correctly. From here, we take you both through a safety induction which teaches the necessary elements of climbing at Urban Climb, in particular, Belaying. The belayer is responsible for taking up the slack rope while the climber climbs, and lowering them down once they reach the top.
Once you have completed your induction, you are free to choose whichever wall you wish to climb. Our instructors will remain on the floor to supervise and assist if needed.
With 18 different grades of difficulty ranging from easy-peasy to incredibly difficult, you are guaranteed to find something to put your fore-arms and fingers to the test.
A common misperception about climbing is that you need to be super strong. Strength does assist, however, its more about balance, flexibility and technique. These elements coupled with good, quality Course Setting are sure to make your first indoor climbing experience a lot of fun!
