Petzl created the 20oz Aztar Ice Tool for alpine climbers who need to cut weight without sacrificing performance on fast-and-light technical climbs. Its thin, 3mm pick (B-rated) provides excellent penetration on bullet-hard ice, and the hooked first tooth gives it excellent drytooling performance. The Aztar Ice Tool has a straight bottom shaft for plunging in soft snow and a curved upper shaft to clear ice bulges on the top of a steep pitch.
