Why go Rock Climbing?

More and more people from all walks of life are getting so enthusiastic about this activity.
Climbing Techniques are already improved, and pieces of
Rock Climbing Gear and Equipment are being constantly developed as this sport continues to gain popularity. Given the fact that it is physically-demanding and dangerous, you may wonder why it is so popular. In this section, take a look at several reasons why people climb:
- Rock Climbing is never boring. There are so many routes to climb, and if you got enough from the crags (or the weather) in your country, there are many more challenging and beautiful walls and crags elsewhere. See our Rock Climbing Hotspots for information about Rock Climbing areas in the world.
- It offers an ultimate physical challenge. Each day on the rock is an opportunity for you to go beyond the skills you already have. You should push yourself each time (yes, again and again, and again) on the rock. Explore new and more difficult routes. Depending on your physical ability and on your own level of risk acceptance, you will see that no grade is tough enough.
- It gives a different sense of adventure and freedom. Most climbers get going because of the great feeling they get when scaling rocks. Moreover, with this sport, you are able to go wherever and whenever you want.
- You will have a breath-taking view of the beautiful nature and sceneries. When looking for new routes, the climber will come across unexpected and beautiful sceneries. In addition, keep in mind that once you've reached the top, you have a breathtaking view of the surroundings that not many people can see.
“Are you nuts? That is too dangerous!” These may be the comments of some people when they hear someone who is planning to go Rock Climbing. But do not let these comments stop you. Once you have done it, you will know why people climb and why so many are addicted to this sport. Does this sound attractive to you? You can start by reading our section on

I STARTED CLIMBING A WHILE BACK TO BREAK MY BIGGEST FEAR: ACROPHOBIA- my fear of heights. IT SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED WELL AS I LOVE BEING ON THE ROCKS AND BEING IN A VERTICAL ENVIRONMENT. PLUSS YOU GET THE BEST VIEWS OF THE BLACK HILLS OF SOUTH DAKOTA FROM THE "VERTICAL WORLD."
